称要将宇多田光(听歌)的歌曲《Prisoner of Love》作为即将在4月10日开播的富士电视台电视剧《最后的朋友(Last Friend )》的主题曲一事已经确定。这是宇多田光时隔6年，再次为电视剧演唱主题曲。
今年已经是宇多田光出道以来的第10年，她将再次挑战和电视剧的合作。去年，宇多田光的歌曲《Flaver of Life》被选为TBS电视台《花样男子》的形象曲，电子版下载量达到750万次。但是作为电视剧的主题曲，从2002年的《First Love》以来，已经是时隔六年了。
电视剧《最后的朋友》讲述的是一群年轻人，各自有自己说不出口的烦恼，为了追求生命的温暖而住在一起，学习到友情的重要性的故事。长泽正美，上野树里和瑛太三位年轻的演员，挑战了这意义深刻的题材。
因为电视剧的内容比较沉重，所以主题歌就不能是一般的爱情歌曲。但是宇多田光表示：“正因为受到这样内容上的限制，才能创作出更有意义的作品。”她勇敢地顺着故事对她的印象，创作歌曲。并在歌曲录制前一天晚上一气呵成。
新作品《Prisoner of Love》是一首中等速度的叙事诗类型的歌曲，也是宇多田光的得意之作。宇多田光说：“最理想的爱情就是友情，所以这次的歌词写得恰到好处。”
这首歌将收录在宇多田光最新发行的《Heart Station》专辑中，这张专辑是宇多田光时隔两年后发行的，也是她个人的第5张专辑。同时，新作还会以铃声等方式向广大的歌迷们公开。继《Flavor of Life》之后，这张专辑将是宇多田光人气的新证明
