As a crucial member of the Bristol, England based Full Cycle recordlabel, SUV has undoubtedly contributed his fair share to thedevelopment of Drum N Bass Worldwide.
A member of the seminal 1989 group Fresh Four who burst onto thescene with 'Wishing On A Star', SUV has continued to carve a musicaljourney both as a solo producer and part of larger conglomerates withRoni Size, Krust and Die always with the intent to break new ground.With his involvement with the Mercury Prize award winning band'Reprezent', SUV is known by some of the band's members as Echoe Soundsand FX man and he also plays percussion in the live shows.
In 2001 SUV releases his first solo album 'Desert Rose' on the FullCycle label the CD kicked up a storm with its release and was caned byeveryone from the likes of Grooverider and Fabio to eclectic leftfieldDJs like Gilles Peterson and John Peel. French label Black Tambour inAugust 2003 saw him follow up the "Desert Rose" CD with ' Follow theSun". Like its precursor a double album, featuring remixes and
collaborations with international artists like DJ Krust, Surge, MC Darrison, MC Verse, Patife and Tali.
Current projects have included the recent release of SUV's very ownPlayside label. Playside releases represent the signature SUV stylethat you'll hear in his DJ sets - with the pure intention to push theboundaries within Drum N Bass, he is always delving into unchartedterritory in search of fresh rhythms.
SUV returns to Hong Kong on January 17th, 2007 to grace the decksat Club Magazine in Lan Kwai Fong after a stunning performance lastyear at Club Bling, where he was accompanied by surprise guest RickyPatrick. Ricky will again be joining SUV creating a unique musical DrumN Bass experience with MCing and simultaneous live percussion. Rickywill be coming to Hong Kong all the way from San Francisco, California.
Local support DJs will be provided by Magnetic Soul DJs and other local
guests.
