Bleeding after intercourse (post-coital bleeding) is actually very common, and I see a lot of that in the emergency department in London. Unless the bleeding continues or the patient becomes unwell, there is nothing to worry about. These bleeds usually resolves spontaneously leaving no complications. Reasons include too much force, not enough lubrication, inflammation (e.g. if there is already infection or injury in that area) etc.
If the bleeding has stopped now and she is back to normal, and this doesn't happen again, then you can forget it ever happened. If it happens again next time you 2 do it, then you need to think about whether you're being too 'violent' etc. If the bleeding happens by itself (so she suddenly starts bleeding for no apparent reason and not related to intercourse) then go see a doctor!
