Guys, you pay $300HKD to play for prizes, NOT cash. If you are aserious poker player, then I dont recommend you to go, because most pplthere are rich bankers and calling stations, from what I saw, only afew fairly good (but they think they are really good player) players.
I went last week and busted out early, because I found out that we arenot playing for cash mid-way and decided not to rebuy, and have add-on,so after the break, I was short stack with about 10BB and went all inwith mid pocket pair and got called with J10 off-suit, the guy hit theten and a straight (bad call cuz i was playing tight all day due to thelose calls they were making and only showing good hands and the guycalled off quarter of his chips preflop with J10, but fair enough, theyare not competitive players)....most ppl play loose and have rebuyslike crazy....(i thought it was silly course we are not playing forcash, but they seem to like it just fine.) The Venue is good, but thestructure is bad i thought. Blinds start at 25/50, with everyone at3000 chips i think (should have at least 100BB to begin with i think, but the house want more $ from rebuys so...fair enough). But beforeadd-ons, players can enter the tournament at ANY point which isridiculous. So a player can not play a hand, come in before the breakand have 3000+4000 chips wihtout playing a single hand for 3/4 blindslevels!
Again, the structure was not good. Its a good game to meet friends andgood for HK ppl who wants to try out poker, but I seriously dontrecommend anyone looking for a competitive game, cuz you wont get one.
The place was good, with dealers and some proper nice chips and a goodcommentator as well, it'd be a good fresh experience for new pokerplayers (do prepare the dough though), but only for a fun game andopportunity to meet friends for competitive players.
I was disappointed, because I am competitive and play for money andwasnt too happy with the structure of the tourny, because its unfairfor some players and the structure is just designed to get as manyrebuys and addons.
